The student will use multiple skills to design and conduct scientific experiments and understand that they are used by scientists to study the natural world.
Observation and Questions
Make careful and detailed observations.
Write experiment questions that are based on observations
Write a hypothesis based on the experiment question.
Describe the variables that will be changed, controlled, and measured in an experiment.
Create a set of directions that covers enough steps that someone else could repeat it, have 8-10 steps.
Data Collection and Analysis
Do the experiment at least 5 times and use more then one sample
Organize the collected data into a table and graph.
Read your results from a table or graph.
Explain how classroom experiments and activities relate to science knowledge.
Explain the relationship between simple experiments and complex systems.
